Adult Day For
Stroke Survivors
Many stroke survivors suffer long-term side effects, including coordination and balance issues, cognitive impairments, vision issues, and depression. If you have a loved one who has suffered from a stroke, you understand the unique care needs associated with their condition. Leaving your loved one at home alone during the day while you are at work or the store may no longer be an option.
If you want to keep your loved one at home but aren’t able to provide the level of care they need during the day because of work or other commitments, consider partnering with Independent Adult Day Centers. We offer daytime, non-residential services at one of our three Indianapolis-area centers through our Adult Day Services program, as well as Home Care, Home Health Care, and Healthcare Coordination services. Our services are catered to adults with life-altering diseases or health issues, including survivors of strokes.

Independent Adult Day Centers in Indianapolis
If your loved one is a stroke survivor, their care needs will vary depending on her or his symptoms – which can range from mild to severe. Many turn to IADC because they want their loved ones to feel a sense of community around them while also trying to regain functions and have their medical needs met throughout the day.
Prior to your loved one attending the center, we will complete a comprehensive health assessment with them. The assessment will allow our care team to understand the unique needs of each stroke survivor and to develop a personalized care plan. Our staff includes LPNs and RNs who care for our guests’ medical needs. They can perform skilled nursing and monitor for worsening or new symptoms, as well as other health issues.
Through our Adult Day Services program, our guests can enjoy weekly community outings, activities tailored to their abilities and interests, and physical activities. Many of our guests develop true friendships with our staff and other guests. Activities are changed and added regularly so our guests never get bored of the activities offered. Stroke survivors can find confidence and support in their condition at Independent Adult Day Centers.
We provide transportation to and from one of our three Indianapolis-area adult day centers. Your loved ones will also receive nutritious chef-prepared meals including breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. All meals are approved by a registered dietician so you know your loved one is getting quality, healthy food. Assistance for stroke survivors with unique transportation or dietary needs will be provided.
Why Partner with Independent Adult Day Centers?
Stroke victims often face a long road to recovery and have unique needs that can be difficult for a family member to perform alone.
The ultimate goal of many stroke patients is to regain independence. Independent Adult Day Centers can help make that possible by allowing them to remain at home and visit our centers during the day. Most of our guests feel that our centers are truly a home away from home. We offer spacious living areas that feel warm and welcoming.
What makes Independent Adult Day Centers unique is that you can trust our team to not only provide a nurturing community and engaging activities for our guests, but we can also monitor their medical needs. We have a variety of medical services we can provide based on our guests’ doctor’s recommendations and their insurance approval.
